Description:

  • The LaBar Recital Hall is an intimate traditional performance space suitable for chamber music performances.

  • Stage dimensions:

  • Reverberation chambers and window shades for acoustical adjustments allow for both intimate chamber music performances reverberant to a dryer acoustic more suitable for amplified events.

  • (1) x Steinway Model D Piano ( 2018 - only available to Music and SMND events)
  • NEC PX-803UL 8K Lumen Projector and motorized 24x16 screen (not moveable)
  • (22) x light fixtures for stage coverage mounted (not moveable)
    • (8) x LED Philips PHX 150W LED - Front Light mounted on pipe 1 (in front of the stage / above 1st row).
    • (6) x LED Philips Showline Par 155 - Backlight mounted on pipe 2 (up stage / behind artist).

    • (8) x LED ETC D40 - Downlight mounted in the acoustical shell

  • 1 Pathway Cognito2 lighting console (presets accessible from artist entrance on Pathway Choreo panel)
  • (2) x Speakers: Left and Right upstage Renkus Heinz IC16-R-II
  • (2) x wireless channels for handheld (Shure SM58) or lapel microphones (Shure WL185) - check below for how to request amplification for your event
  • 12 Stage inputs for audio (4 per stage box) and 1 for video (stage right)
  • House amplification for lectures and presentations upon request

Description:

  • The LaBar Performance Hall is a flexible space that can accommodate from chamber music to medium sized ensembles and groups.

Stats:

  • Flexible seating arrangements (up to 100 chairs available)
  • Space dimensions:
    • width = 36 feet 
    • depth = 60 feet 
  • Reverberation chambers and window shades for acoustical adjustments from more reverberant choral performances to a dryer acoustic for amplified lectures.

Instruments and Equipment / Technical:

  • Steinway Model D Piano ( 1957 - only available to Music and SMND events)

  • (26) x light fixtures configurable only for approved projects by DoM / SMND

    • (10) x LED Philips PHX 150W LED

    • (10) x LED Philips Showline Par 155

    • (6) x LED ETC Colorsource Cyc - Downlight mounted in the acoustical shell

  • 1 Pathway Cognito2 lighting console (presets accessible from artist entrance on Pathway Choreo panel)

    • For theatrical events, a rental board is highly recommended

  • Christie DWU1075GS10,875 Lumen Projector (not moveable) with Christie 1.22 to 1.52:1 Zoom lens uses the west wall for projection (add pic)

  • 1 wireless channel for handheld (Shure SM58) or lapel microphone (Shure WL185) - check below for how to request amplification for your event
  • (2) x Tannoy VXP12 Speakers available with stands
  • Risers may be available upon request for special events

External Venues 

 

For organ recitals and selected graduate conducting recitals, our faculty and students often perform at the Reyes Organ and Choral Hall as well as Basilica of the Sacred Heart (organ recitals only).

 

For booking in these spaces, please contact the SMND office who will works with the DPAC and Basilica staff for requested dates and times.  Recitals in these spaces cannot be booked directly with the DPAC or the Basilica.

Please note that the Basilica is not avaiable for any conducting recitals.
