Earlier this year, DMA Conducting student Michael Accurso composed a hymn entitled I Will Praise Your Name Forever for the dedication of the new Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh, North Carolina.

You can read a small excerpt from Bishop Burbidge below.

"Earlier this year, I commissioned Mr. Michael Accurso, Director of our Diocesan Office of Liturgical Music, to compose a hymn for the dedication of our new Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.  I am pleased to announce that this hymn entitled, I Will Praise Your Name Forever, is now complete and will be introduced as part of the liturgical music repertoire in our parishes throughout the coming year in preparation for it to be sung during the entrance procession for the Mass of Dedication for our new Cathedral on July 26, 2017.

The hymn is available in the eight languages that represent the diverse cultures which contribute to the life of our Diocese: English, Spanish, French, Swahili, Igbo, Vietnamese, Korean, and Tagalog.  Please note that the refrain of the hymn is listed in English, so that all of the faithful of our Diocese may fully participate when this hymn is sung for the Mass of Dedication and other Diocesan events.

To assist in the introduction of this hymn, the following video link is provided and may be accessed at here.

Please join me in thanks Mike Accurso for his work on this composition to mark this historic occasion and in prayer as we prepare as a Diocesan family for the dedication of our new Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.  May Our Lord Jesus continue to bless us in this great endeavor, now and always."
