Graduate Student Heejin Kim Wins Second Place in International Organ Competition

SMND student Heejin Kim (DMA Organ) participated in the 6th International Organ Competition "Organi Storici del Basso Friuli" in the Municipality of Muzzana del Turgnano, Italy from October 1-6, 2018. She took second prize in the final round of three, using four historically valuable Italian organs (Nacchini, 1750; Dacci, 1773; Colombo, 1532; and Zanin, 2012). Participants were judged by an international jury comprising of Arvid Gast (Germany), Henk de Vries (The Netherlands), and Luca Scandali (Italy). The competition was held in the parish churches of Muzzana del Turgnano and Marano Lagunare and in the Abbeys of Lignano Sabbiadoro and Valvasone.
