MSM - Conducting

Tyler-Minseok Kim (Tyler) is a first-year Master of Sacred Music student in Choral Conducting at the University of Notre Dame, where he studies with Dr. Jerry Blackstone and Dr. Mark Doerries. He pursues secondary studies in voice with Dr. Stephen Lancaster and organ with Dr. Mary Catherine Levri. At Notre Dame, he co-directs the Chamber Choir of the Notre Dame Children’s Choir and serves as assistant conductor of the South Bend Chamber Singers under Dr. Nancy Menk.
Before beginning graduate study, Tyler was Director of Choirs and General Music at West Brook Middle School in Paramus, New Jersey, teaching students in grades five through eight. He previously served as conducting intern for the Princeton Girl Choir’s Concert Choir under Dr. Lynnel Joy Jenkins and held positions as tenor staff singer at Trinity Episcopal Church in Princeton and conducting intern at First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown.
Tyler holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College, where he studied voice with Christopher Arneson and piano with James Goldsworthy. He also studied with James Jordan, Steve Pilkington, and Tom Shelton.
