MSM - Organ
Maggie Werth is currently pursuing a Masters in Sacred Music with a concentration in organ performance at the University of Notre Dame. Originally from Topeka, KS, Miss Werth grew up in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Schola Cantorum under the direction of Dr. Lucas Tappan, where her love of Renaissance polyphony, organ playing, and children’s choirs was born. She began her organ studies at the age of 12, and has studied under the tutelage of Mr. Leroy DuBois, Dr. Brian Matthias, Dr. Katie Schmitz, Dr. Michael Bauer, and Dr. Olukola Owolabi.
She received her Bachelors of Music in Organ Performance and Church Music from the University of Kansas in 2020, and was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi the same year in recognition of her musical achievements and academic scholarship.
She currently serves as an organist and graduate assistant for the Liturgical Choir at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, as well as assists with the Liturgical Choir of the Notre Dame Children’s Choir. Upon graduation, Miss Werth aspires to work in the context of the Catholic choir school model, fostering children in participation of the highest degree in Catholic liturgy, theology, and sacred music.
