In Düsseldorf, Germany this past week, a team of four scholars launched their book Liturgical Life and Latin Learning at Paradies Bei Soest, 1300-1425: Inscription and Illumination in the Choir Books of a North German Dominican Convent (Aschendorff, 2016). Margot Fassler, the musicologist on the project, gave a public presentation with her colleagues at a performance by the Ars Choralis Coeln of works chosen from the liturgical manuscripts studied in the two-volume work. In addition, the scholars led a several-day workshop on art, music, theology, and liturgy among Dominicans in the later Middle Ages at the University of Düsseldorf.
