Recital Fy24 C Dma 3 Kari Francis Wildgesang Poster Original Web Small

Wildgesang, or “wild singing,” spotlights the ways composers have used the elasticity of the human voice to depict the natural world. Opening with a short lecture about an improvisation method known as Vocal Painting, Wildgesang captures the magic of flora and fauna as illustrated through choral music from the past two centuries. Works by composers such as György Ligeti, Missy Mazzoli, and Jake Runestad paint vivid vocal landscapes, which will intertwine with newly improvised vignettes—all exploring the resonances and contrasts between nature’s wonders and the interiority of the human heart.

This event is free and open to the public.

This performance will be live-streamed.
