On Wednesday, March 3, 7:30–9:30 p.m., the University of Notre Dame Dept. of Music and Graduate Program in Sacred Music will host a guest master class by renowned master teacher, David Jones. Undergraduate and graduate voice majors will perform in the Leighton Concert Hall and be taught by Mr. Jones remotely in the public master class via Zoom. David Jones has developed an international career as an author, vocal pedagogue, and teacher of singers and teachers in Europe and the U.S. Author of “A Modern Guide to Old World Singing: Concepts of the Italian and Swedish-Italian Singing Schools,” he has trained singers performing at such opera houses and festivals as the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Berlin Staatsoper, Vienna Staatsoper, the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, Salzburg Festival, and L’Opera Bastille in Paris.
