One of today’s most probing concert artists, pianist Jonathan Biss returns to his home state of Indiana for his debut performance at Notre Dame. He kicks off this second of our O’Neill Hall Rollout Weekends with a recital on Friday evening at 7:00 pm devoted entirely to Beethoven piano sonatas, as he continues his nine-year, nine-disc recording cycle of the complete set of these monumental works. His performance at O’Neill Hall will highlight the exquisite acoustics of the intimate LaBar Recital Hall, as well as the stellar capabilities of the Hall’s new Steinway concert grand, which was hand selected by ND piano faculty at the Steinway headquarters in Queens, NY.
