Carissimi's Jephte, Charpentier's Te Deum, and the Jesuit Vision

 

Second Year MSM student and Jesuit Priest Fr. Phillip Ganir leads Notre Dame's Concordia Choir and Ritornello Orchestra in two early Baroque masterpieces composed by two musicians affiliated with the Early Jesuits: Giacomo Carissimi, one of the most celebrated masters of the early Baroque, and his student Marc-Antoine Charpentier, one of the most important French composers of his generation.

Featured Soloists include: Victoria Fraser (soprano), Isabella Burns (soprano), Erin Donegan (soprano), Joshua Boggs (countertenor), Carlos Cardenas (tenor), Matthew Kelly (tenor), Nathan Kistler (bass) and Ned Vogel (bass).

The recital takes place in the Lady Chapel of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (on the Notre Dame Campus) on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 4:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
