On April 9, 2016, Caleb Wenzel (DMA Candidate) will present Lauda Dominum: The Latin Psalm Concerti of Sebastian Knüpfer as the closing event for the biennial meeting of the American Bach Society. A critical performing edition of these enigmatic Psalm settings of a lesser known predecessor to J. S. Bach in Leipzig forms the core of Mr. Wenzel's DMA thesis. For this unique event, Mr. Wenzel will take the reigns of the Notre Dame Vocale and Notre Dame Festival Orchestra, Sacred Music at Notre Dame's resident professional ensembles. Eminent cornetto virtuoso Bruce Dickey joins Notre Dame Festival Orchestra as a featured soloists, with guest concertmaster Alison Edberg-Nyquist leading the orchestra of all period instruments.
