At 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, Alexander Blachly's 14-voice Renaissance choir POMERIUM will present a concert in Leighton Concert Hall. This event, sponsored by the American Bach Society, is free (but ticketed).

Pomerium explores the evolution of the sacred motet from the time of Palestrina to Bach's tenure in Leipzig. The program features a kaleidoscope of motet types: with continuo and without, single-choir and double-choir, chromatic and diatonic, four-voice, five-voice, six-voice, eight-voice, and ten-voice. Pomerium's fourteen singers will be supported by a continuo group consisting of organ, viola da gamba, and violone.
