Reverend Ivan Moody has emerged as one of the most distinctive voices in European composition in the last 20 years. A composer and musicologist, he is also an Archpriest of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. He has dedicated his life of creativity and research to the expression of Orthodox liturgical aesthetics in the context of modern artistic life. He has been affiliated to important research projects at universities in Portugal and Finland, and his music has been recorded by distinguished ensembles and conductors for the Hyperion, ECM, Sony, Challenge, Telarc, Gothic, Oehms, Orange Mountain, Linn and Cappella Romana labels. Reverend Moody will be the keynote speaker for the symposium of the International Society for Orthodox Church Music in June, 2016.

This lecture is part of the series "Creative Sacred Music" supported by a Henkels Grant and also part of the colloquia sponsored by Sacred Music at Notre Dame.
