SMND alumnus Emerson Eads composed an orchestral piece honoring Saint Therese, to be performed by the Juneau Symphony. Guest conductor for the Juneau Symphony, William Todd Hunt commissioned compositions inspired by landmarks in Juneau. Ead’s inspiration came from the National Shrine of Saint Therese. Ead’s piece, titled “I Love Him”, will be performed by the Juneau Symphony, led by Hunt. The piece is part of program titled “Psalms and Fanfares” being performed at Juneau-Douglas High School on April 6 and 7, 2019 in Juneau, Alaska.

Eads (DMA 2018) is currently director of choral activities at Minot State University, North Dakota.
