Professor Carmen Helena Tellez speaks at the International Conference of the Performance Studies Network in Oslo

Professor Téllez capped a series of sabbatical lectures with a peer-reviewed paper for the International Conference of the Performance Studies Network in Oslo,  Norway, on July 7, 2018, She addressed new modes of presentation for art music, and how the training of conductors needs to include the interdisciplinary methodologies of Performance Studies. Previously on May 9th, Professor Téllez addressed the topic of the chorus as an interdisciplinary instrument, in a lecture for the musicology department of the University of California -Riverside. On April 28 she spoke on the underexplored impact of Arvo Pärt on Western contemporary music, during the working conference "1968," organized by Professor James McAdams and the Nanovic Institute of European Studies at Notre Dame. This paper will become a chapter in the book collecting the interdisciplinary research presented at this conference.
