Professor Carmen-Helena Téllez gives lecture at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music

Dr. Carmen Helena Téllez, Professor of Conducting in the Sacred Music Program, gave a lecture at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music on January 23rd.  The 90-minute talk was titled "With The Pulse of The Times: Juan Orrego-Salas' Madrigales for Choir a Cappella in the Continuum of his Choral Oeuvre", and took place in the context of the celebrations of the 100th birthday of Juan Orrego-Salas, founder of the Latin American Music Center at Indiana University.  Professor Téllez was the director of the Center and Professor of Choral Conducting between 1992 and 2012, before joining the faculty of the Sacred Music program at Notre Dame. She was accompanied by Professor Jan Harrington, Chancellor Professor Emeritus, acting as a discussant.
