Professor Carmen-Helena Téllez, Head of the Conducting Studio, conducted two performances of Mendelssohn's oratorio "Elijah" last September 9 and 10, 2017, as a guest of the 6th International Festival of Sacred Music of Bogotá. The performances took place in the historic Teatro Colón, with the Orchestra EAFIT of the city of Medellín, and the chorus of the Universidad de los Andes. It was the first time that "Elijah" was heard in Colombia. Composer Krzysztof Penderecki and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis were also guests of the Festival.
