Notre Dame Day A Success!

Author: Mark Doerries

Sacred Music at Notre Dame recently participated in the annual University-wide Notre Dame Day fundraising appeal on April 24-25, 2016. In addition to raising over $17,000 in funds, Sacred Music was the eighth highest recipient of contributions amongst over 850 organizations and the only academic unit in the top 10 fund recipients.

Notre Dame Day remains an important fundraising event for Sacred Music at Notre Dame. Last year's donations funded a national tour for the Chamber Choir of the Notre Dame Children's Choir who performed in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, Philadelphia, Abington, PA, and New York City. This year's fund will support the recording of the Notre Dame Children's Choir first album of hymn arrangements titled, O Day of Peace. The CD will be recorded at Saint Meinrad Archabbey in southern Indiana and will include the winning submission of the 2016 Notre Dame Children's Choir Hymn Competition. The raised funds will also support the growth of our Lyric Choir for singers with special needs, our Prelude Class for infants, toddlers, and parents, and the Seraphim Choir for singers with mature voices.

We are grateful for the support of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and Notre Dame Children's Choir families. Stay connected with Sacred Music at Notre Dame for information regarding Notre Dame Day 2017.
