Baritone Stephen Lancaster, assistant teaching professor of voice, and organist Kevin Vaughn, first-year DMA student, performed two collaborative recitals of sacred music for voice and organ on November 6 & 7 in Williamsburg, Virginia. The program included songs by Gabriel Faure, Daniel Pinkham, Leo Sowerby, and Louis Vierne, and solo organ works by Alexandre Guilmant, Herbert Howells, and Louis Vierne. The two musicians were hosted by St Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg (Aaron Renninger, MSM ’09, director of music and organist), and Bruton Parish Church (Episcopal) in downtown Colonial Williamsburg (Rebekah Davy, director of music and organist).
