Prof. Carmen-Helena Téllez Invited to be a Member of the Standing Committee for Research and Publications of the American Choral Directors Association

Prof. Carmen-Helena Téllez has been invited to serve as a member of the Standing Committee for Research and Publications of the American Choral Directors Association. She will serve for the next four years.  Under the new ACDA committee structure, the Research and Publications committee will continue its ongoing work with monographs, the Herford Award, and symposia on repertoire and performance practices, while expanding its interest in the application of technology to research, and in the integration of research with performance in all areas of choral music. Professor Téllez was the winner of the Herford Award in 1991.…

Incoming MSM Student Graduates with Distinctions

Incoming MSM Conducting student, Abby Helbling, recently graduated with distinctions from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Helbling received magna cum laude distinction for a bachelor’s degree in music education. She previously received the Music Teachers National Association Student Achievement Recognition award and the Slocum Prize for the highest GPA in the music department at graduation.…
